Dr. Shah is an MD physician and is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Board Certified in Pain Medicine. The hallmark of our practice is attention to detail, approaching the ketamine Program as practice of medicine.

As part of our quest for maintaining high standards and to differentiate our practice from other clinics we voluntarily registered our practice with Texas Medical Board as an Office Based Anesthesia facility. We recently passed a rigorous and detailed inspection by the TMB.

Ketamine Program is part of our metabolic approach to mental and physical wellness and health encompassing reducing insulin resistance by a multidisciplinary model . There is emerging evidence that majority of the psychiatric disorders are symptoms of an underlying mitochondrial dysfuntion caused by insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and inflammation. Ketamine works in part by contributing to improving mitogenesis , synaptogenesis and neural plasticity. Our thinking is that Ketamine would induce remission of symptoms quickly and then maintain the remission by employing mitochondrial improving strategies. This empowers our patients, reduces cost and decreases health care utilization.

Every individual has their own unique physiology and responses to medications. We individualize every program to a patient’s specific needs and responses and rapidly make changes as needed to get the best outcomes in a most cost effective way possible.

All the treatments are planned in close consultation with our patients who play an integral part in their own care plan. They are conducted and closely monitored by Dr. Shah personally so that the patients are safe, comfortable, and get the most benefit from the Program.

We have accumulated a wealth of experience during the last five years that we have been in practice having successfully completed more than 2000 procedures with excellent results overall without significant untoward reactions.

The psychiatric indications for Ketamine program are anxiety depression including Bipolar Depression,( especially suicidal iideation) OCD , PTSD etc

Ketamine is also useful for reducing cravings to alcohol, marijuana etc. which patients sometimes self medicate to get relief from their distressing symptoms.

The chronic pain conditions are CRPS , Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy Migraines Chronic Pelvic Pain / endometriosis and many more.

The major medical contraindications to the treatment are uncontrolled hypertension, unstable cardiac disease , unstable diabetes’ neurological disorders, allergies to ketamine, etc and psychiatric contraindications are psychosis, schizophrenia, manic phase of a bipolar disorder , and substance abuse in the past three months.
